Apostille from the Department .

After you got your certificates, it is necesarry to get your diploma apostilled, to make sure your documents are provided by the valid authority. Before the Hague convention of Apostille, we have to get our documents Legalized from the Country (which we studied from /got our certificates ) and then legalize it /attestate it by the Country we are going to work or study further . But now, after the Hauge convention was signed , it  abolished getting multiple legalisation for separate countries and making it as one Apostille.

"Apostille only certifies the signature, the capacity of the signer and the seal or stamp it bears. It does not certify the content of the document for which it was issued "

Apostille Convention

There are 113 countries, which have signed the Convention. The left out parties (countries) , notable ones are Canada , Middle eastern Islamic Republics like Saudia Arabia, etc . (Oman is in Hague convention). Fortunately, India is in the convention and Apostille is acceptable in India. For countries like Canada, Saudia Arabian Kingdom, we have to legalize our documents separately for them , from the Department of Authentication and Apostille Services from Armenia . And then getting an attestation from the respected foreign ministries or embassies (ask about the details to the particular embassy )

PLACE TO GET APOSTILLE :

Department of Authentication and Apostille Services , in Amiryan Street.

The Department only opens from 10.00-12.00 am and only on monday, tuesday , thursday and Friday. The tokens will be issued from around 9.00 am. You have to go there earlier to get inside the department. There will be a machine which gives us tokens. Take a token for applying from there and wait for your turn. You will have to pay 5000amd to the Department for a single seal . There will be a machine there and a woman/man to help you out for paying there ( +200 for machine for single payment ). Or you can visit Converse bank nearby to pay there.

DOCUMENTS WHICH ARE NEEDED TO BE APOSTILLED
1) Diploma
2) Marksheet  ( Medical School Transcript )
3) Attestation Sheet

DOCUMENTS YOU NEED TO SUBMIT TO THE DEPARTMENT
All original documents and their copies , with passport and visa copy (have original passport in hand to show them ) .

1) Diploma
2) Marksheet ( MST )
3) Attestation Sheet
4) Diploma photocopy  ( bring extra copies , if you need legalization too. I recommend you to take four photocopies with you)
5) Marksheet photocopy ( same as  Diploma photocopy )
6) Attestation Sheet ( one photocopy is enough , as Attestation Sheet is only directed to Republic of India )
7) Passport and Resident card photocopies ( They dint ask us, but still have them in hand )
8) Original Passport and Resident card
9) Payment slips

One single seal cost - 5000amd ( +200 drams for machine )
we need 3 seals = 3 x 5000 + 3  x 200 = 15,000 + 600 = 15,600 amd for apostilling the certificates

Suppose say , we need Legalisation of our certificates for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, then you have ask them specifically to legalize our documents for that.
Documents which need to legalize, incase if you want ,
1) Diploma
2) Marksheet
(and copies of that. Thats why , I have asked , you to have extra copies )

 2 legalisation = 15,800 + 2 x 5000 + 2 x 200 = 15,600 + 10,000 + 400 = 26,000amd

If you need legalisation for Canada too, then you will have to pay extra 10,400amds for it .(I think so ) Ask about it to the Department by yourself.

If you pay it in bank, then you will pay only extra 100 drams for whole payment , instead of 200 drams for each payment in machine .

If there are few people, then you have to go one by one according to the number in the token and submit your documents by yourself to the officials. They will have an application form , which you have to fill (name , passport details, etc ). After everything, they may give you a slip, which we have to bring it on the day of collection.

( We were many people, and it was so much crowded. So , few person of us , were making sure that every document is right and placed.  Those persons (indian students within us, who took responsibility ) were acting as intermediary between the officials and the students . This is because, there were lot of us on that day and difficult to manage ).

COLLECTION DAY :

On the collection day , you have to bring your passport and the collection slip. The timing is same from 10.00-12.00 . Take a token from collection in the machine and wait for your turn. When your turn comes, go inside and collect your documents .
