GETTING APOSTILLE FOR MARKSHEETS - 10TH AND 12TH (UPDATED FEB'19)

THIS following post is for those who studied 10th and 12th standard from tamilnadu.

Before joining in any medical institution or any institution per se , needs authentication of our certificates (in this case 10th and 12th) , from Government . The Apostille seal and the signature in our certificates will be verified by the institution , which takes us a student. In some colleges/medical institutions , the apostille seal is not a requirement. So, the student need not get the Apostille seal.

But you might need this seal for verification of your 10 th and 12th marksheets elsewhere. For example, in TamilNadu Medical Council, they might ask you , whether you had got your certificates apostilled. If not, then you had to pay Rs. 100 (as DD) for verification purposes to Council, which will ask the required departments to verify ( This one is covered in TamilNadu medical council procedures )

The problem here is , it will take about one month long time for the concerned department to verify. If you had already apostilled your document, you could have cut shorten the time of delay and get your provisionals earlier. The following steps are to be done before you approach TamilNadu Medical Council.

1) Secretariat Works :

The documents which they might ask
(not to everyone,sometimes they might need only school certificates .But take these documents along with you , incase if they need. Have originals along with you )
1) 2 photocopies of Resident card (final year resident card may suffice)
2) 2 photo copies of Visas ( first year,, we might be going there with a tourist visa , take it as copy)
3) 2 photocopies of passport
4) 2 photocopies of Stamps in our passport ( emigration and immigration seals/stamps in our passport)
5) 2 photocopies of Universities admission letter
6) 2 photocopies of 10th certificate
7) 2 photocopies of 12th certificate
8) original 10th and 12th marksheet
9) 2 challans 50rs each (taken at IOB ,Secretariat , read further for instrucitons)
                     
                                First of all , you had to approach Secretariat for The RED SEAL  . The deparments may open from morning 10 am . Before you enter the place, there will be small check point, where they may enquire you about where you are going. You should say the purpose as getting "THE RED SEAL" and to "THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT". They might check your bag and certificates . Bring any photo ID along with you for entering (UPDATED )

                           Before you go to the foreign department, you should get two challans of Rs. 50 from IOB bank branch within Secretariat . Just mention the purpose - "WANT TO PAY AND GET CHALLANS FOR RED SEAL" , they will give the details , just fill it up and get the challan . The 3rd counter guy deals with this . Service charges for 1 challan - RS 50.
Totally -Rs 200 ( take a copy and save it for yourself )

In the foreign affairs department,
The file will move through following steps :
1) one person (THATHA ) will verify your documents and ask to separate into two - one for 10th and another for 12 th
2) second , they  will verify and seal it as verified and sign it
3) third, they will give you 2 application forms (?) To be filled
w4) You have to submit the signed application form with all the documents to the counter. They will give you acknowledgement . (which may have number on it).

Keep the acknowledgement safe.You might recieve email id stating your documents are ready to be collected. You should go there with the acknowledgement and give it in the counter. Recieve your documents and sign "recieved originals ".

2) DPI works :

Secondly, you had to get verification from DPI/ Ministry of external affairs.
The things needed for this one are :
1) Online transaction receipt Rs.100
2) Aadhar card xerox - 1 photocopy
3) 1 photocopy of 10th and 12th certificate with the red seal backside
4) 1 photocopy of passport
5)  Original 10th and 12th certificate

Before you go to the DPI, you should pay Rs. 100 online 1 day before and have the receipt with you. The office may receive apostille documents only from 10 am till 1'0 clock.  Payment should be made through NTRP PORTAL -  https:/bharatkosh.gov.in

After going to the portal - select non registered users >>
choose payment category - Ministry/Department
type payment purpose as "Apostille Fee " ( only Letter "A" and "F" should be in capital letters )

The documents should be submitted the next after paying through the portal.
The DPI is located in Nungambakkam, after entering the premises , ask for EVK Sampath building(?) or the place where they had to get apostille. The place where we had to go is located in 7th floor of that building/tower. Say them that you want to get apostille. The first person checks the document and asks you to go to the clerk officer. The second person (the clerk officer ) gives a form , which should be filled. They will also give you a slip, which should be kept safely.

The  process may take MORE THAN ONE DAY - POSSIBLY 3 DAYS(NOW- UPDATED ) . The documents SHOULD  be collected in evening from 4.30 to 5.00pm . Dont lose the slip. Anyone with the slip might collect your certificate.

  2. I have appostille in my 12th mark sheet. But my 10th mark sheet is not having the seal. But I have eligibility certificate from mci which I got last year and I paid for verification of the 10 and 12th certificates. So Is it necessary to get the red seal for 10th marksheet?

    1. In India , everytime you are going for some courses which might need verification of your certificates . So everytime you have run and pay for verification. It's better to get an apostille and red seal for all the certificates you have got , to make life easier. It's not compulsory to get apostille and red seal . I am even not clear about this issue.

  3. should the depositors name be same as the one whose marksheet has to be verified ? I actually made a mistake in the depositor's name. I missed to mention the middle name will it be a problem ? Please do reply this would save me from making the payment again. Thanks in advance.

  4. Is it necessary to get red seal and verification for 10th if you have done in CBSE? In Secretariat they said they wouldn't do for 10th CBSE. In the CBSE office they are asking for a letter from the institution but I've already completed my mbbs from China.

    1. Ask in tnmc about this issue. They would help you out. You might need to visit Delhi for apostillation ???? . But tnmc doesnt ask for CBSE apostillation I think so . Confirm it with tnmc.

If you want to do in Delhi , you have to register yourself in Delhi Medical Council . Getting a provisional certificate from Delhi Medical council is a easy job, as everything had to be done online. STATE (TAMIL NADU )MEDICAL COUNCIL REGISTRATION ( updated sept 2020)

So, after  getting NBE MARKSHEET/PASS Certificate we need to register in the concerned State Medical Council for provisional registration certificate. Previously we had to do this in both the MCI and State Medical Council. Now , its enough to register in the concerned State Medical Council. Concerned State Medical Council - to get provisional registration certificate from the State which you are going to do internship 1) If you wish to do your CRRI(internship) in Delhi, then you can apply to Delhi medical council 2) If you wish to do your CRRI in Kerala , then you can apply to Kerala Medical Council 3) If you wish to do your CRRI in either Pondicherry or Tamilnadu, you can apply to Tamilnadu Medical Council if you got provisional registration certificate from a concerned state medical  council, you had to complete your internship in the same state and get permanent registration from the same state. eg. if you got your provision registration certificate from Delhi Medic
